By slowly dripping milk and food coloring onto the glass you will see the colored milk floating across the glass and looks like, a new solar system being born.

 

Solar winds of gas blowing out into space is what creates stellar nurseries.

 

But here on this small plate of glass it's surface tension that causes the fat molecules in the milk to push apart.

 

The underlying physics between the two reactions are essentially the same.
